About Me
I am pursuing a Bachelors in Animation and Visual Effects, with an emphasis in 2D Traditional Animation. I am currently attending the Academy of Art University to gain the professional knowledge it takes to advance in this career. Although my main goal is to become an animator, I have interests in storyboarding, art directing, 3D modeling, designing environments and the characters. My love for the arts and film go far beyond one specific position.
Through AAU I have studied 2D and 3D animation, storyboarding, color fundamentals, figure drawing, cinematics, computer graphics and character design. In my training I have used programs such as Photoshop, After Effects, Tv Paint, Toon Boom, Maya and Premier Pro. I have also used other computer programs such as Microsoft word, Excel and Power Point. I am hoping to expand my skills in animation. My focus right now is to continue to study the principles of animation. I want my work to be as real as possible. I want my work to capture the heart of the audience, like how Disney captured mine.
Outside of school, I have done independent projects for people who needed my skills. I have created centerpieces for a Disney themed wedding, which included a miniature replica of the house from Disney/Pixar, “UP” (2009). I have also volunteered my art services to low income preschools for their special events. This included face painting, card board décor cut outs and picture background boards.
A major skill I have learned independently is creating appeasing characters. Whether they are cartoon or realistic, I have learned how to draw using different techniques. I think this is a very important skill because it can be used universally; depending on the project. I also have learned how to create 3D character puppets using paper mechanics. This is a natural talent I discovered at a young age.
The classic Disney films is what inspired me to become an animator. What captivated me was their strong characters, outstanding stories and phenomenal music. All of these elements brought breathtaking films that I will never forget.
